教授、博士生导师。现为食品安全监测与风险评估四川省重点实验室副主任和学术委员会委员、四川省学术技术带头人、四川省卫生健康委员会学术技术带头人、中华预防医学会卫生检验专委会常委、全国卫生化学学组副组长、四川省预防医学会理事、四川省预防医学会卫生检验分会副主任委员、全国高等学校卫生检验与检疫专业国家卫生健康委员会规划教材评审委员会委员；《中国卫生检验杂志》、《中国职业医学》、《中国测试》、《现代预防医学》等杂志编委；曾任华西公共卫生学院院长助理、副院长、卫生检验教研室主任、公共卫生与预防医学中心实验室主任、四川大学“双代会”代表、华西公共卫生学院教授委员会副主任、致公党四川省委委员、致公党成都市委常委、致公党四川大学总支主委、华西支部主委、成都市武侯区第四届、第五届人大代表（2002-2011年）和成都市政府参事（2005-2016年）等职。

承担科技部“十一五”、“十二五”科技支撑项目子项目2项，主研多项国家自然科学基金、博士点基金项目等。发表科研论文200余篇，其中SCI论文80余篇，获得国家专利2项。研制国家食品标准检验方法2项。主编、副主编全国规划教材和教学参考书5本，参编全国规划教材等13本。指导硕士研究生50余名；博士研究生15名。获得四川省教学成果奖三等奖和四川大学教学成果奖一等奖等。
